Courtney Moody
Ballet DirectorCourtney began her professional dance training under Diane Partington, Rey Dizon, and Martine Moore. She later studied with master teachers such as Richard Sias of the National Ballet of Canada, as well as Ariel Serrano, Wilmian Hernandez, and Delia Ballart. During her training years, Moody participated in an educational exchange program with the National Ballet School of Cuba and was later invited to be a trainee with BalletMet on scholarship. Throughout her professional career, she has performed roles such as Myrta in Giselle, the Pas de Trois in Auguste Bournonville’s Le Conservatoire, and Aurora in Sleeping Beauty, as well as premiere contemporary works by choreographers such as Lloyd Whitmore, Karina Elver, and Marquis Floyd. In 2022, Moody became the Rehearsal Assistant for the Brandon Ballet, staging works such as Cinderella and the Kingdom of the Shades from La Bayadere. In 2023, she was one of four choreographers chosen for Ballet 5:8’s Choreographer’s Intensive, where her piece “As My Soul Chases Eagles” was chosen to premiere in the company’s season-opening production, and she has also contributed. She joins the New Tampa Dance Theatre faculty for her first season in 2025.
