Troy began playing drums at the age of 6 in Estes Park, Colorado.  His passion for rhythm led him to Mesa State College where he received his BA degree in Musical Theatre and Minor in dance. Utilizing his training, IronWing had the opportunity to perform such roles as Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar, Richie in A Chorus Line, and Kenickie in Grease just to name a few. Trained by such masters as Savion Glover, Dianne Walker, Jason Samuels Smith, and Jimmy Slyde, he specializes in rhythm tap which is strongly influenced by these masters. After receiving many opportunities to choreograph regional theater including Godspell and Grease, Summer Nights at Busch Gardens, Tampa, and The Chocolate Nutcracker, IronWing currently teaches master classes and performs internationally with Rhythm Extreme. Troy is married to Artistic Director, Dyane Elkins IronWing, and has been the Tap Director for New Tampa Dance Theatre since 2003.
