OUR PHILOSOPHY

PHILOSOPHY

Established in 1995, New Tampa Dance Theatre is the area’s first and largest professional training facility, with a name that has become synonymous with excellence in education, trust, and integrity. Families wishing to explore dance can count on NTDT to provide a safe and nurturing environment, and they’re encouraged to visit and tour our facilities.

Through personal attention and professional expertise, our faculty is committed to providing a positive educational experience based on our core principles of respect, responsibility, and teamwork.

Our programs are designed to help students develop an appreciation for diverse disciplines, by encouraging self-expression, artistry, and self-discovery in addition to technical proficiency.

Students have multiple performance opportunities throughout the year, including a series of original, full-length productions, such as Dance Theatre of Tampa’s The Nutcracker, the Summer Concert Series, and our annual Spring Production. NTDT’s choreography is designed to be age-appropriate, allowing each student to perform live theater tailored to his or her maturity level with a focus on growth and personal development.  Students ages three to eight host their families to a special matinee production, while students ages nine to eighteen showcase their high-quality training and diverse talents in two exciting evening performances. Our goal is for students to have a rewarding performance experience and enjoy the learning process.

We are dedicated to sharing dance with the community through year-round free trial classes for prospective dancers of all ages. Our students gain confidence, self-esteem, determination, and a strong work ethic—skills that allow them to succeed and attain their future goals. Whether dancers are seeking recreation or pre-professional training, it’s our priority to instill a sense of personal accomplishment and pride, all while enriching their lives and creating memories they will cherish forever.
